Our Story

Shawn and Susan Weatherup have lived in Bemus Point, New York full-time for six years with their four sons: Cody, Brady, Brendan, and Preston. Prior to making the permanent leap to their beloved village home, the family resided in Tampa, Florida, and summered in Chautauqua County for 15 years. Like many others, Bemus Point holds a special place in their hearts, representing tradition and cherished memories.

The inspiration for Splash and Splash Suites stems from the Weatherups' passion for their community's potential and their relentless drive to work hard. As an entrepreneurial couple, they have a history of successfully running vacation rental units and an e-commerce venture. In 2021, when the chance to acquire the Splash property emerged, they jumped on the opportunity. Pursuing their dream of establishing a unique dining and lodging destination, they embarked on a complete transformation with an upscale renovation. In the spring of 2023, they proudly opened their doors, making a valuable investment in the downtown Bemus Point area.

The Weatherup family considers themselves fortunate to call Bemus Point their home. They aspire to share their love for the community with everyone, offering an exceptional experience at Splash.
